A port of Resident Evil 9: Requiem has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2.

Announced in the recent Nintendo Direct, the upcoming port of Capcom’s first and third-person horror game was confirmed alongside the next Mario movie and Pokemon Legends Z-A DLC.

Releasing on February 27, 2026, the horror game is coming in a native port for the handheld. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Resident Evil 8 Village are also both coming to the system on the same day.

Resident Evil 9 was shown running on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware at the Nintendo Direct. The port looked fantastic on the hardware with some obvious aliasing on reflections and hair, but overall great image quality.

The arrival of Resident Evil 7 and 8 on the system is entirely unsurprising, especially as their ports were already leaked. However, other titles including Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes have not been confirmed for the system.

Resident Evil 9: Requiem is an impressive port for the system due to its heavy reliance on ray-tracing. Following the release of Star Wars Outlaws on the handheld, another title that uses ray-tracing extensively, this shows just how powerful the new handheld really is.
