A year after launch, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the best-selling 40K video game of all time. With an additional year of post-launch support coming and a sequel on the way, Saber Interactive’s stunning action game is even more exciting with a wealth of content constantly on the way.
Following the release of the game’s internal editor tools for modding earlier this year, Space Marine 2 mods have admittedly been releasing slower than expected. However, one just-released mod has changed everything by adding a full first-person view to the action game for PC players.
Created by modder Forges of the Imperium, the new “First Person” mod for Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 does exactly what it says in the tin. Once installed, the mod allows you to play the fast-paced third-person action game from a first-person perspective, giving you a closer view of the action than ever before.
Designed to work seamlessly in both PvE campaigns and PvP multiplayer, the mod can be used for every section of the game. However, the modder has also added a “Hybrid Mode” that sounds a lot more comfortable and far less sickening.

With the “Full Version” enabled, ranged combat, melee combat and even executions all play out from the first-person point of view which does sound rather motion-sickness inducing due to how active the latter two are.
However, with Hybrid Mode, only ranged weapons are seen in first-person whereas activating a melee weapon will pull back to third-person for a wider view at your trusty chainsword ripping through hordes of Tyranids and/or Thousand Sons.
Obviously, using the mod in a multiplayer setting will require you to use a private lobby which are quite common for mods such as Astartes Overhaul. Nevertheless, it’s incredibly cool to see the gorgeous world of Space Marine 2 from such a close-up view.
Despite being made for third-person, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is one of the most gorgeous representations of Games Workshop’s grimdark universe. Everything looks exactly like the tabletop game, but somehow almost lifelike, and seeing those intricate models so close up is absolutely stunning.
