Obsession star Inde Navarrette has announced her jump into video game acting with the scream queen starring in an unannounced game. As the star of 2026’s most successful horror flick, Navarrette has here eyes set on one of gaming’s most successful horror franchises: Resident Evil.
Speaking to Variety in a new video interview, spotted by PC Gamer, the Obsession star was asked about her love of video games. At this point, every fan is aware of the actor’s scary-good Call of Duty skills, but Navarrette also explained that she’s “on a Resident Evil kick” as of late.
The actor was then asked about her potentially starring in a video game as an actor where she revealed that she’s already starting to dip her toes into that industry. “Yes, and I’m starting my journey with that soon,” Navarrette said. “I want to try something smaller to kind of test the waters, because video games are obviously an interest of mine.”
That brings us onto Resident Evil which the actor explains would be a dream role. “I love that world specifically, the Resident Evil world,” Navarrette told the outlet. She added: “I would die inside” if she was able to star in Capcom’s iconic horror game series.
While the Resident Evil games haven’t really jumped into major celebrity casting, the modern titles have hired well-known stars before. Resident Evil 4 Remake featured Canadian actress Lily Gao in the role of Ada Wong, actually reprising her role from the unfortunate movie adaptation Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
It’s worth noting, though, that Capcom’s modern RE titles use separate face models from their voice actors for the most part. In fact, RE4 Remake’s Ashley Graham uses different models for their face and body with another actor performing motion capture for the character. It’s a very complicated setup.
Nevertheless, there is hope that Navarrette could jump into Capcom’s zombie horror series, either in game or film roles. After all, there’s seemingly always a new Resident Evil project popping up somewhere. Always!
