Slitherine Inc’s brilliant PC strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is still adding more content almost half-a-decade after launch. As the game approaches its fifth anniversary, players can now enjoy a massive new DLC expansion with the addition of the Black Legion.
Available right now for £12.79 on Steam, the Black Legion DLC comes with 15 new units, although the developers had to whittle this down from a massive list of 37 units. Nevertheless, each unit comes with their own abilities and combos that offer a brand-new style of play to the strategy title.
With the Black Legion DLC, players will be able to tap into the forces of Chaos to wreck havoc across the battlefield. The DLC also comes with a new map, Despoiled Lands, and comes alongside a host of balance changes. Here is a a list of all 15 units you’ll now be able to control should you purchase the new expansion:
Commanders
- The Chaos Lord
- Sorcerers of Chaos
- The Master of Executions
- Cultist Firebrands
Black Legion Elites
- Chaos Terminators
- The Chosen
- Havocs
- Obliterators
Engines of Destruction
- The Helbrute
- The Venomcrawler
- The Forgefiend

Remorseless Forces of the Black Legion
- Chaos Legionaries
- The Raptors
- Chaos Cultists
Command Support

So far, the response towards the Black Legion in Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector has been pretty damn great. The new unit combos feel fresh with some fantastic animation work. Additionally, the unit’s new voice acting is gloriously cartoony which fits the overtly evil feeling of the Chaos-demented faction.
While this may be the tenth DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, the developers are not done yet with the strategy game. Just this year, the developers have confirmed a free major update sometime soon followed by the game’s long-awaited Ultramarines DLC in Spring. Additionally, Battlesector fans will receive a new narrative DLC in the Summer, followed by another major free update, and another Faction DLC in the Winter.

If you’ve yet to give Battlesector a shot, the game is currently available on a massive sale to tie in with the launch of its Black Legion DLC. Additionally, other DLC for the game is currently on sale for you to quickly bump up your units if you already have access to the title.
