Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios have delayed Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 to Spring 2026 following a number of fan complaints. Following the gameโ€™s recent Steam Next Fest demo, the gameโ€™s developers are shifting the gameโ€™s release date to improve the game.

In a press release, the game developer explained that the delay will allow the team to โ€œfurther refine the experienceโ€ of its upcoming turn-based sequel. The developers explained that the additional development time will address โ€œperformance concernsโ€ as well as allow for โ€œcontinued refinement of new systems and campaign contentโ€.

One of the main complaints from the gameโ€™s Steam Next Fest demo was the complete ommission of lingua-technis, the official binaric machine code language of the gameโ€™s titular Adeptus Mechanicus. Instead, the demo version of the game simply had a filtered English language dub which is inaccurate to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

With the additional development time, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 will now ship with two options for players to enjoy. Players who want to play with the English language voices will be able to, but hardcore fans will be able to play with the lingua-technis language for a more accurate, grimdark experience.

Additionally, the gameโ€™s dev team will also be focusing on improving the gameโ€™s movement system which was a major pain point during the gameโ€™s demo period. The game will now allow an optional setting that will allow the move action to auto-select when switching between units.

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios claims that this simple change will allow โ€œa smoother and more efficient tactical flowโ€ during gameplay. The developer did not confirm what other โ€œrefinement of new systemsโ€ will be added by launch.

When Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 releases in Spring 2026, players will be able to play as both Necrons and the titular Adeptus Mechanicus across multiple campaigns written by Black Library author Ben Counter.

The upcoming strategy game is just one of many new 40K games releasing over the next year. While unfinished at the time of writing, Owlcat Gamesโ€™ Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy has just launched in an alpha state, and KingArt Gamesโ€™ Dawn of War 4 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2026.

Additionally, fans of more action-focused games will be well served with additional content drops for Saber Interactiveโ€™s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 which is still being updated with new operations, weapons and more. Space Marine 3 is also in development, but wonโ€™t launch for โ€œyearsโ€, according to the developer.
