While everyone continues to wait with baited breath for more news on the exciting Stardew Valley 1.7 update, fans are currently hard at work continuing to create amazing mods for ConcernedApe’s iconic farming game.
Some fans have worked hard to create exciting new cooking minigames for players to engage in while others create fan fiction romances to enjoy. However, one brilliant new mod adds a functioning retro arcade to Pelican Town that players can now interact with.
Created by modder Deathbygin (the gin craze never ended, ey?), the new Ferngill Arcadium mod brings a new arcade building to the town accessible via Central Station. Once you arrive, you can experience a host of five new arcade games created by the modder as well as the existing Journey of the Prairie King and Junimo Kart games from the base game.
The games added in the mod are as follows:
- JUNIMO PONG: A chaotic, power-up-fueled take on the timeless classic inspired by Pong.
- LABYRINTH: Guide Krobus through a maze, gobbling dots and avoiding pesky bats in this Pac-Man-inspired adventure.
- CROP CRUSHER: Smash your way through levels of crops in this satisfying Brick Breaker-style game.
- SLIMEFALL: Plunge into the depths as a slime, dodging enemies and collecting coins in this fast-paced vertical challenge inspired by Downwell.
- ZUZU CITY DRIFT: Weave through traffic and dodge bombs in a high-speed, Outrun-inspired racer!
Alongside just adding the brand-new mini games, each game has its own leader-boards and scores available, and they also have controller support for players who don’t want to use a mouse and keyboard.
Most importantly, unlike the normal game’s arcade games, players will be able to earn tickets in the Ferngill Arcadium that you can redeem for prizes. Smaller rewards include sweets and coffees, whereas the larger rewards allow you to get the mod’s new arcade machines as furniture items to put in your house… which is awesome.
