Just days after the release of the Arc Raiders Cold Snap update, Embark Studios has released a new patch for the popular extraction shooter. The new Arc Raiders 1.7.2 patch notes highlight just a few minor changes alongside a reduction in blueprint drops.

As of the 1.7.0 update, Blueprint drop rates within Arc Raiders were insane with some players finding an entire inventory’s full of rares and uncommons during a single run. While the new update will keep the drop rate higher than the launch version of the game, Blueprint drop rates have been reduced.

Embark Studios notes that “Blueprint drop rates have been slightly lowered, but are still higher overall than before the 1.7.0 update”. While the extreme drop rate of the schematics were found to be annoying to some, many players agree the game is more fun with a higher drop rate for the items.

Additionally, the new update has re-enabled Hidden Bunker, a map modifier that allows access to the bunker complex found to the west of the Departure Building in Spaceport. Previously locked off, the lack of the hidden bunker was found to be rather annoying for players trying to avoid the new Snowfall map condition.

Finally, although not necessarily part of the patch itself, Embark Studios is giving every player a free Christmas gift within Arc Raiders. Players who log in to the game are being gifted a substantial 1,000 Raider Tokens “for being a valued part of our community”.

Here are all of the additional changes that have been made to the game as of the Arc Raiders 1.7.0 patch notes:

  • Blueprint drop rates have been slightly lowered, but are still higher overall than before the 1.7.0 update.
  • Hidden Bunker has been re-enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where spamming the interact input while having a bad connection would make players unable to perform the interact action.
  • Added missing volumes to make sure inside areas don’t deal cold damage during Cold Snap.
  • Updated the driver warning for AMD GPUs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the ‘Unexpected Initiative’ quest to not spawn quest items making it impossible to complete.

Overall, it’s a miniscule patch, but with Embark Studios giving up weekly patches already, it’s nice to see such a rapid fix for the out-of-control blueprint drop rate. For more on Embark’s extraction shooter, read about the best weapons you should be using whenever you go topside.
