A new Arc Raiders exploit has been discovered that allows friends to enter the same solo lobbies as their friends, creating teams in solo-only games to crush the competition.

Just days after Embark fixed an exploit that allowed players to re-join matches they had already lost, fans have discovered another matchmaking-breaking glitch that allows them to join solo games with their friends.

The glitch is largely prominent on the game’s Xbox Series and Xbox PC app versions as it involves exploiting the game’s matchmaking. Players will region-switch to low-population areas, turn off cross-play, and search for a match at the same time to maximise their chances of jumping into a solo match at the same time.

Additionally, as players on Xbox are able to rapidly make alternate accounts to circumvent bans and other penalties, exploits like this have become major issues across a large number of games where cross-play can be turned off.

While the current exploit is mostly common on Xbox, it is present on other platforms through the use of VPNs and other services. Players who all search together in a low-population region will essentially be queued as a collection and thrown into a larger search group with players from outside that region if enough players can’t be found for a full match.

As an extremely popular game with over 14 million unique players, Arc Raiders will always be battling cheaters and exploiters. Shortly after launch, Embark CEO Patrick Soderland confirmed that the team had already banned “tens of thousands” of cheaters, but there are always more players looking to exploit the game for their own gain.

“We have been pretty aggressive on this,” the CEO said, explaining that the “game wasn’t prone to so many cheaters in the beginning, but as with all multiplayer games that get successful, this becomes a component, unfortunately.” Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that Arc Raiders cheaters have consistently discovered new exploits to use since the game’s release, and the number of exploits is only rising.

Arc Raiders has just released its 1.24.0 patch as the team works on the game’s next major update, Riven Tides. Coming soon, this new update will add a brand-new map to the game, likely centered around the game’s coastline.
