It looks like Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have a sizeable amount of DLC as the game’s Epic Games Store version lists a potential total of 9 add-ons after launch.
While Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is the final entry in the ongoing Remake saga, it has been teased that the game could receive post-launch DLC. The series’ first entry, Remake, received a brand-new Intermission storyline starring Yuffie and, while the series’ middle point (Rebirth) received no expansions, the third and final game might.
Earlier this year, director Naoki Hamaguchi exclaimed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation could get DLC expansions “if there is a significant demand” for them. “As for DLC beyond the third instalment, I believe that will ultimately depend on how strongly fans continue to support Final Fantasy VII as both a title and a franchise,” he said.
Via the EpicDB, a database that tracks new entries to the Epic Games Store database, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has uploaded tests for a total of 9 DLC expansions, not including the game’s pre-order bonuses. EpicDB is a third-party tool, but the database tracks new additions to Epic Game Store releases similarly to SteamDB.
Uploaded an hour ago at the time of writing, Revelation’s database page also includes a “Story Expansion Pass” which indicates that all of these expansions will be story-related in some form. Of course, there’s also the game’s Digital Contents Pack (likely a digital art book and soundtrack) as well as a Premium Edition and Pre-Purchase Bonus versions.

While these DLCs have been trialed in some kind of test environment on Epic, they are less visible on Steam. However, according to SteamDB, Square Enix made multiple changes to the Final Fantasy 7 Revelation store page 12 hours ago at the time of writing,
With this information, it seems quite clear that there will be a hefty amount of post-launch content for Final Fantasy 7’s final entry. However, we currently have no idea what that story content will be or if all of it will actually release. (After all, Final Fantasy XV’s second year of DLC did not end up releasing.)
Nevertheless, DLC is coming to the game, and fans have been quite clear what they want. Could we see a video game adaptation of Advent Children within the Remake trilogy? Could we see a good version of Dirge of Cerberus? The door is open for anything, really.
Square Enix has not confirmed any official DLC plans for the game at the time of publication.
