Halo Studios is releasing a full-cast audio drama of Eric Nylund’s epic prequel novel, Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Originally released prior to the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, The Fall of Reach gives fans the essential backstory of the Master Chief and the iconic Battle of Reach.

Releasing later this year alongside the release of The Master Chief Omnibus, which combines the first three Halo novels into one book, this audio drama will be narrated by 343 Guilty Spark actor Tim Dadabo and feature the return of the games’ cast.

For the new audio drama, Steve Downes will reprise his role as Master Chief alongside Jen Taylor as Catherine Halsey and Cortana. Additionally, the new voice of Captain Jacob Keyes and other characters will return for the audio drama.

The new audio drama will be based on a revised version of The Fall of Reach. Originally released in 2001, the book has seen multiple revisions to fix original typos – due to the book’s rushed development – as well as fit better with the altered canon of Bungie’s Halo: Reach.

This new version will see additional changes, which could include changes to better align with the new prequel missions that will be included in the new Combat Evolved remake, Halo: Campaign Evolved, which has its own retcons.

Halo Studios confirms that there will be additional information regarding the audio drama later this year. At the time of writing, the new audio drama can be pre-ordered right here.

This isn’t the first full-cast drama from Halo Studios. In fact, Steve Downes and Jen Taylor both reprised their roles for the recent Halo Infinite sequel novel Halo: The Edge of Dawn, which continued to push the series forward towards the eventual Halo 7.

At the time of writing, it’s not known if there will be additional full cast dramas based on The Master Chief Omnibus or other novels. An audio drama based on Halo: First Strike or Halo: The Flood would likely be a great addition for fans, although there are a number of new books in the works – such as the upcoming Parasite’s Wake – which could also see full drama releases.

Halo: The Fall of Reach full-cast drama releases on November 10, 2026 alongside The Master Chief Omnibus.
