The Automatons are pretty sick of us. Following the new Major Order pushing to invade the cyborg homeworld of New Cyberstan, the robotic forces of evil have fought back, overtaking Super Earth communications with their own propaganda.
So far, the blasted bots have remade the entirety of the game’s iconic intro cutscene, but from their perspective… and with a much lower budget. “Think if the roles were reversed,” the bots said in binary Swedish which we converted to English. “Think if you were in our place”.
Other messages from the robots call on the citizens of Super Earth to “not let the Helldivers reach Cyberstan”, saying, “tell your leaders to stop this mindless war”. They added: “Out ancestors were put in chain by Super Earth. Forced to work for leaders who promised to give freedom.”
Right now, it’s unknown what the Automatons are planning for Helldivers 2 players. However, it certainly seems that the robotic forces are planning to charge on Super Earth if the Helldivers get closer to New Cyberstan. This could result in the long-awaited return of Cyborgs, enemies from the original game, or even some of the larger leaked enemies that have yet to be added to the game.
The Automaton propaganda mission has even managed to grab a hold of Helldivers 2 developers as CEO Shams Jorjani has responded to players in binary with the same message over and over again. When translated, the message converts to: “you’re going to sh*t your pants”.
This lines up with prior comments from Jorjani discussing the now-current campaign for Helldivers 2 in which the CEO promised “a lot of Helldivers will die”. While many are dying at the start of the new major order—especially with the help of the increased difficulty level for higher-tier players—this is just the start of the fight against the Automatons.
While unconfirmed right now, it seems that the Automaton forces will attempt to push back towards Super Earth during this campaign. Following the Super Earth invasion by The Illuminate last year, this would be the second time the jewel of the galaxy has been invaded by alien scum.
