Helldivers 2 fans beg Arrowhead to stop “undocumented changes” as new patch introduced unannounced annoying changes

Helldivers 2 has just received a massive new patch that aims to fix a load of issues within the game. Alongside slightly reducing the game’s massive PC file size, the new patch fixes a tonne of bugs, nerfs a lot of enemies and more.

As the first patch in a series of major overhauls coming to the game in the coming months, Arrowhead’s update was praised at first. However, as fans have continued to dive into the latest version of the game, it seems that the patch actually changes more than was announced.

In a recent Reddit thread, fans discovered “several undocumented changes” that went live with the latest version of the game. Alongside the actually revealed changes, the patch introduced nerfs for fan favourite weapons such as the Senator that were not mentioned in the official patch notes.

Additionally, the new patches undocumented changes have made the already annoying Hive Guard seed missions even more annoying. In the changes, Hive Guards were made considerably tankier by debuffs to light and medium penetration weapons, and now hitting their legs is largely useless. With fans already despising this mission type, this patch has only made things worse.

“Arrowhead, please don’t do this,” one fan said on Reddit. “We keep asking for transparency for a reason. I want to be able to make up my own mind about the overall effects of a patch without having to go watch YouTubers for all the things your patch notes forgot to mention.”

Not all of the undocumented changes were negative. In fact, fans noted that the “Nursing Spewers got the same changes to the mouth weakspot that Bile Spewers got”, however, fans not knowing this has caused unwanted annoyances that could’ve been avoided by simply including the changes in the patch notes.

“STOP WITH THE UNDOCUMENTED CHANGES”, one fan posted in all-caps on the game’s subreddit, with another saying: “Arrowhead and undocumented changes. Name more iconic duo.”

Into the Unjust was supposed to be a huge moment for Helldivers 2, but it’s largely made the game worse.

In reality, this often happens with major patches in a lot of games as some bug fixes or changes happen after the official list of changes is compiled. Additionally, sometimes people miss things when compiling a massive list. However, with Helldivers 2 currently still in a rather unsavoury state, the arrival of unannounced changes that make players weaker has caused some understandable ire.
