Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders is still continuing to grow weeks after its already-impressive launch. While the new extraction shooter has seen some controversy due to its use of AI—although, not nearly as badly as Black Ops 7 which is pushing US congressmen into action—the game has mostly been a hit with gamers.
It’s not often that paid games continue to grow after their first week of sales, but Arc Raiders player counts are continuing to grow on all platforms. Following the game’s 2.5 million sales, the player population is steadily rising, now besting this year’s biggest launches.
On Steam alone, Embark’s new shooter has proven more popular than Helldivers 2. Via SteamDB, Arc Raiders hit a new all-time peak player count on November 16, 2025. Following a previous peak of 448,470 PC players at once, the game hit a new record of 481,966.
In comparison, Helldivers 2, a similarly popular multiplayer game has a lower, but still impressive, all-time peak of 458,709 players on Steam. To put this into comparison, Helldivers 2 was recently used as an example of a major multiplayer hit in Sony’s recent financial report, praising the game as Bungie’s Destiny 2 continues to falter.
With this in mind, it’s clear that Arc Raiders is an absolutely massive hit, especially for a smaller team. While there were worries that the game would not succeed on launch due to its paid launch instead of being another free-to-play game like Embark’s The Finals, the game has been a huge success for the studio.
Following the game’s most recent update, which added the new map Stella Montis after a community unlock event, there’s still more planned for the game in 2025. In the game’s official roadmap, Embark confirmed that a new raider deck and new quests will be added in December, alongside a new Snowfall map condition and the Flickering Flames event.
As for 2026, we don’t entirely know what’s planned for the game. However, it would appear that new locations, weapons, enemies and more are coming to the game with frequent updates. (Judging from how fast Embark pumped out The Finals updates during that game’s first year, we’d expect a lot.)
