In a game as massive as Baldur’s Gate 3, players will be discovering secrets for years to come. As a full adaptation of the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying experience, Larian Studios’ RPG has a lot of simulation under the hood, and one player has just discovered a hilarious little trick.

When you hit the central location of Baldur’s Gate in BG3, causing disturbances in the city can lead to you getting arrested. However, it turns out that player summons that also cause chaos can also be arrested and stay in jail even after you’ve left.

Spotted by player Dinoratsastaja, their Minor Fire Elemental summon was arrested and taken to jail for destroying a crate in the city of Baldur’s Gate. After shifting the camera to their still-active elemental, they found that the creature was simply hanging out in a jail cell, locked away for their vandalism.

Alongside being in jail, the Minor Fire Elemental was even stripped of his weaponry. “I never knew this could happen. They even took his hammer. I’ll go get him after I stop the press. This situation is way too funny for me to reload a save,” the player said.

During his stint in prison, the player’s summon even went bald for a spell until they used their party to break him out of jail and set him free. Upon seeing the gorgeous blue skies of the Sword Coast, his fiery mane was returned.

When a summon is arrested, their weapon actually gets stored in the equipment chest, providing players with an extremely fun way of getting their hands on “unobtainable” weapons within Baldur’s Gate 3. If you want to wield an elemental summon’s weapon, then this is a fun and easy way to do so.

This is just one example of Baldur’s Gate 3 showing just how deep its systems actually go. Yes, players can get arrested, but that system exists for more than just your Tav and your party. It’s almost Elder Scrolls in a way where the world is actually living, and that life is just triggered by your existence.
