CD Projekt Red is officially staffing up for Cyberpunk 2, one of the most anticipated games. The studio’s latest job listing is a clear sign that the production for the game is ramping up, as the developer is looking for a Senior Narrative Designer to join the team.
The role suggests the direction that Cyberpunk 2 could take, as the studio wants designers capable of creating emotionally driven stories. On top of this, CD Projekt Red is looking for gifted storytellers who can design memorable quests and believable open-world communities. This listing comes shortly after the Cyberpunk 2 team grew to almost 150 developers.
Interestingly, the job listing clarifies that this is not a traditional writing position.
Cyberpunk 2 is expanding its team with more storytellers
Instead of writing, the listing is focused on design and implementation. Developers joining the project will help build quests, NPC interactions, open-world events, and cinematic narrative sequences. Paweล Sasko, Associate Game Director at CD Projekt Red, referenced quests like “Sinnerman” and “Dream On” from Cyberpunk 2077, as well as The Witcher 3’s iconic “Bloody Baron” storyline.
The studio is looking for someone to join the team in Boston, Massachusetts. The job listing reveals all the important details, from benefits to compensation.

The emphasis on narrative systems and emotional storytelling shows that the Cyberpunk 2 developer is not simply trying to make a bigger sequel. Instead, the studio appears focused on making the game feel more alive, with stories shaped not only by main quests but also by the communities and smaller interactions throughout the world.
Cyberpunk 2, formerly codenamed Project Orion, was announced in October 2022. Unfortunately for the fans of the game, the sequel likely won’t come out anytime soon. CD Projekt Red is currently prioritizing The Witcher 4, and with Cyberpunk 2 seemingly still in early development, it may not be released before 2030.
The first game of the series, Cyberpunk 2077, launched in December 2020. With over 35 million copies sold, it’s become one of the best-selling video games of all time. While the game faced controversy at launch, its narrative was arguably its biggest strength, and CD Projekt Red appears determined to push that even further in the sequel.
