The next Fortnite season is set to launch in early March. As the first season of Chapter 7 enters its final month, we will get more information about Season 2 very soon. For now, its release date has been confirmed by Epic Games, and the theme of the season was leaked earlier.
Once again, Epic will release map changes, gameplay tweaks, and a new Battle Pass. On top of this, the game developer has lined up a couple of major collaborations, and we might see one of them in the upcoming pass.
With the release date of the Fortnite season only a month away, let’s check everything waiting for us in it.
When does the new season of Fortnite come out?
The new Fortnite season will come out on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Epic Games confirmed this on the Battle Pass page, stating that the current pass will remain active through March 4. Considering that most seasons come out on either Thursday or Friday, this timing makes sense.

It’s important to add that the game developer may alter the release date. There is a chance that Epic will postpone Chapter 7 – Season 2 for two weeks, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
What is the theme of Fortnite Chapter 7 – Season 2?
The theme of the next Fortnite season was leaked a while ago, and it appears that it will be based on Norse mythology. This makes perfect sense, since Epic Games has worked on numerous Norse-themed skins for over a year, as we have seen in various Fortnite surveys.
With this in mind, we expect Kratos, one of the rarest Fortnite skins of all time, to return during the season. The God of War protagonist was last seen in March 2021 and will have been vaulted for five years once the new season comes out.

The new Battle Pass will likely have several Norse-themed skins and cosmetics. However, we also expect Epic Games to add a couple of collaborations in it, and one of them could be Fortnite x Overwatch. This exciting partnership should arrive within the next three months, and it is almost guaranteed to take place in Season 2.
In addition to the cosmetics, Epic will almost certainly change a large chunk of the island and add a couple of new thematic locations. Each season brings map changes, so we expect approximately one quarter of the island to undergo a major overhaul, while the rest of it will have subtle changes.
Before the new season comes out, don’t forget to unlock all the free Fortnite skins, as one of them will expire in March. If you need to catch up with the current Battle Pass and level up quickly, you can use one of the best XP maps in Fortnite.
