Fortnite has released several new collaborations over the past few weeks. The biggest one is Overwatch, which brought new gameplay items, cosmetics, free rewards, and a lot more to the battle royale game. However, Epic Games has also released a Ratatouille collaboration, which is arguably the most ridiculous crossover in the game’s history.

While the partnership with Blizzard brought numerous cosmetics, including four iconic Overwatch characters, the latest collab brought only two items. On top of this, both items are borderline useless, making this a candidate for the laziest collab Epic has ever released.

The Fortnite x Ratatouille collab is simply lazy

The Fortnite x Ratatouille collaboration was leaked earlier this year, and many players looked forward to it. After all, Remy, a rat chef, would have been a perfect addition to Fortnite’s growing roster. Unfortunately, the collab was released on Monday night, but it launched without him.

To make things worse, Epic Games did not even bother to release a back bling or a glider based on this character. Instead, the latest Fortnite crossover brought a trail and a boost. These items arrived a few weeks after Epic removed Rocket Racing from Fortnite, a mode that primarily used cosmetics like cars, trails, and boosts.

While these cosmetics can still be used in regular modes, such as Battle Royale, they have limited value after the removal of the racing mode.

Remy’s Taste is a trail that costs 300 V-Bucks, while players can also purchase a boost with the same name for 400. The sum of both items is 700 V-Bucks, which is just 100 V-Bucks short of purchasing a new skin. As a result, this makes the pricing difficult to justify for many players. In fact, it’s very rare that new cosmetics don’t end up on the list of best-selling items, and that’s exactly what happened with these two.

Epic Games may update the collaboration in the future and release the Remy skin. For now, unfortunately, the collaboration is simply not worth it. With the increase in V-Bucks prices, the items cost approximately $8, which is simply too expensive.

Fortunately, Epic is offering a couple of free Fortnite skins for the time being. On top of this, players can use some of the best XP maps in Fortnite to level up quickly and unlock more cosmetics from the Battle Pass.
