The Winterfest event is still underway in Fortnite, as Epic Games has many more gifts to give to players. This year’s event features 16 free cosmetics, including two skins, and they will be available for another week. Unfortunately, some of the presents have been returned to Lt. Winter’s sack, which means you can no longer obtain them.
The Winterfest 2025 event has a major change, as it requires you to log in consistently to get all the rewards. If you miss out on too many days, some of the gifts will be unavailable, and unfortunately, you won’t be able to get them.

If you attempted to open a large present in the back, one that has a free skin, you may have gotten a message that the gift was returned to Lt. Winter’s sack. This essentially means that you won’t be able to obtain the gift, as it requires you to open 13 other presents first.
As previously revealed, you need to open seven presents before you can obtain the Glacial Dummy skin, while Cheeks, a hamster, is obtainable after 13 gifts.
What makes this situation worse is that Winterfest skins have been exclusive in Fortnite. This means that if you missed out on them this year, you may not be able to buy them in the Item Shop in the future.
Due to all of these problems, it’s no surprise that the community has complained and asked Epic Games to revert this change and make all the gifts obtainable. However, the company is currently on a winter break, which is why we don’t expect any changes.
