Epic Games has increased the XP earned from several core Battle Royale actions as part of the latest Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 hotfix. The changes affect some of the most common things players do in every match, making it easier to level up the new Battle Pass through regular gameplay rather than relying entirely on quests.
The XP buff covers four categories of accolades: opening chests, surviving each storm circle, getting eliminations and assists, and reviving or rebooting teammates. All of these actions now reward more XP in Fortnite, although the exact amount hasn’t been disclosed.
Fortnite buffs XP gained from common actions in Battle Royale modes
According to Hypex, the most popular Fortnite leaker, the following accolades received an XP increase with the latest hotfix:
- Opening chests
- Reaching each storm circle
- Getting eliminations and assists
- Reviving and rebooting teammates
The changes come alongside a larger hotfix that also brought significant Sprite balance updates and vaulted the Chaos Reloader Shotgun from the loot pool. It is worth noting that the XP buff only applies to in-game accolades. In other words, quests will keep rewarding players with the same XP as they did before.
While this buff may not be massive, it can be a difference maker, especially during longer matches. Furthermore, as we’re still in the first week of the season, many players are trying to level up as fast as possible, so even a tiny XP buff can go a long way.
