Battle Pass progression in Fortnite could become much faster in Chapter 8. Epic Games is reportedly testing Fortnite XP boosts that go as high as 400%, according to a new leak. However, the system comes with a catch that may not sit well with every player.

Part of the upcoming system is reportedly built around Fortnite Crew, the paid monthly subscription. The Crew XP boost that leaked in June would run on the same system, and the bonus would reportedly grow the longer a player stays subscribed. Other XP boosts in testing would reportedly come with time limits and mode restrictions.

Fortnite XP boosts would reportedly reward long-term Crew subscribers

According to Hypex, the most reputable Fortnite leaker, Epic is testing the system on the build for v44.00, which is the first update of Chapter 8. The feature has not been officially announced, and the leaker shared six bonus values that are currently being tested:

  • 5% XP boost
  • 10% XP boost
  • 15% XP boost
  • 30% XP boost
  • 65% XP boost
  • 400% XP boost

Itโ€™s important to note that these are reportedly test values, so the final numbers may change before release. If the 400% figure is a bonus added on top of normal XP, a single Fortnite match would pay out five times the usual amount. The bonus would reportedly apply to XP earned from both matches and quests.

The Crew bonus sits at the lower end, with the same 5%, 10%, and 20% tiers from the June leak. This time, the tier reportedly depends on the number of months subscribed, and the bonus would only stay active with the subscription. As Crew is a paid service, subscribers would earn more XP than other players for the same playtime.

The other Fortnite XP boosts would have restrictions as well. Some would reportedly expire after a set time, while others would only work in specific modes, and one tested booster is said to be limited to Solo Builds. Boosts of the same type would not stack, as only the highest bonus would apply. However, different types would reportedly add up.

The 400% value does not appear to be tied to Crew, as 20% is the highest tier listed for subscribers. The leaker expects XP boosts to be handed out through Crew, the Battle Pass, quests, and other rewards. Nothing in the leak says Epic will sell XP boosts directly, which makes talk of Item Shop sales speculation for now.

The Crew connection has already raised concern under the leak, as some players believe that Epic will nerf XP across the board. However, this is also just speculation. Epic Games has not announced Fortnite XP boosts, and the leak does not include a release date. Furthermore, the system may still be changed or delayed before it reaches the game.
