Rockstar Games’ long-awaited GTA 6 will officially cost $79.99 on launch. Additionally, the game does not release with the new version of GTA Online.
As players await the upcoming GTA 6 release date later this year, Rockstar’s open-world game is finally available for pre-order. The game has two versions: a base release and a more-expensive Ultimate Edition.
The base game of Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost $79.99, $10 more than the average release but cheaper than the alleged $100 price tag. The Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99 and comes with a number of goodies.
Players who pre-order either version prior to release will get a bonus Vice City Pack. This pack features “a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest”. You can find a list of the bonuses at the bottom of this article.
While GTA 6 will release later this year, there has been no word of GTA Online. Instead, Rockstar explains that the game will feature a “single-player experience” at launch, featuring the “most immersive” incarnation of the series. No mention of GTA Online 2 has been included at all.
Furthermore, GTA 6 will not be available on disc on launch. Instead, physical editions of the open-world game will simply consist of a code-in-a-box release. Prior reports have claimed that this is a move to avoid leaks of the game before launch, especially as prior GTA games have broken street date.
It has been reported by some that a physical release of the game is planned to come later, sometime in 2027. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games.
Now, back to the game’s bonus goodies for the more expensive Ultimate Edition. The GTA 6 Ultimate Edition comes with the following bonuses:
