Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed the next major update for Helldivers 2, Machinery of Oppression, officially launches on February 10, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
After teasing the game’s new Cyborg enemies in a recent video, Helldivers 2 Machinery of Oppression will massively expand the game’s Automaton faction with new enemies and locations later this month.
After their huge defeat in the original game, “the Cyborgs are back, fuelled by nothing but rage and socialism, the cyborgs will stop at nothing until they see our way of life destroyed”. As Helldivers 2 players march towards the Automaton Homeworld of New Cyberstan, these powerful returning foes will need to be taught a lesson… again.
Helldivers 2 Cyborgs come in three flavours for their debut, First, the Agitators take centre stage as the field commanders of the Automaton armies. Equipped with Heavy Armour, these foes will be able to take direct command of weaker Automaton enemies to command the battle to focus entirely on you.
Next comes the Radicals, pale-faced, red-eyed abaominations with arm-based shotguns and powerful “Techno-Martial Arts”. These deadly enemies are able to kick a Diver’s head straight off their shoulders with powerful kicks.
Lastly, there’s the Vox Engine, a powerful heavy vehicle armed with dual heavy laser cannons and heavy Gatling lasers. Most dangerous of all is the vehicle’s use of propaganda which it spews at high volume across the battlefield. These must be destroyed.
All of this content is being added to the game on February 10, 2026 with Helldivers 2 updates typically launching in the morning. It’s not the biggest update the game has ever seen, but it is very sizeable and—as CEO Shams Jorjani warned—players may be bricking themselves with the tenacity of this new foe.
This is just part of the massive invasion that Super Earth soldiers are launching against the Automaton scum of New Cyberstan, and it will be one hell of a fight. However, there is still a chance that players can complete this major order, and take the Automaton Homeworld for the glory of Super Earth.
