The Invincible Vs team has “never talked about” a co-op mode for their 3v3 tag fighting game, despite the fact that it’s “probably possible”. Speaking to the Kombat Kings YouTube channel ahead of the game’s launch on April 30, Invincible Vs Combat designer Reepal “Rip” Parbhoo revealed the challenges of including a co-operative mode, a la Riot’s 2XKO brawler.

“On our side that’s never been talked about,” he said. “Personally, my thought on that is that I think the game is super fast. Yeah, it’s probably possible, but you probably have to slow things down in certain places to make that work better. I think 3v3 is kind of pushing it, even 2v2 is kind of hard to pull off, so shout out to 2XKO…”

“Rip” explained that co-op integration requires more thought than just dropping into the game, it needs the right technical infrastructure behind it – something underpinning 2XKO. Some earlier games tried this, such as Street Fighter X Tekken, but fell short due to “rough” netcode and infrastructure.

Rip explained: “I remember even back with Street Fighter X Tekken, like they had that feature, where it was 2v2, you could play with your friends online, but the netcode and infrastructure for that was like really rough to maintain because you’re trying to roll back between four people now, and you’re doing the 2v2 thing at the same time.

“So, you had a lot of rollback issues with Street Fighter X Tekken, and then Riot comes along with 2XKO, and I think they did a really good job because they’ve got that infrastructure built out across America to make matchmaking and netcode work even better. So I feel they’ve got a huge leg up on the competition in terms of making that a possibility in terms of, like, co-op play.”

That’s not to say that additional functionality can’t be added to Invincible Vs after launch, but judging by these comments, it does seem unlikely. Nevertheless, the game still appears to be shaping up well, despite this glaring omission.

Invincible Vs officially releases later this month on April 30, 2026. The 3v3 fighting game launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC with no current plans for a Nintendo Switch 2 port. The base game includes 18 playable characters.
