, A new leak for NetEase’s superhero multiplayer shooter Marvel Rivals seemingly points to the addition of one of the game’s most obscure heroes: Devil Dinosaur.
Introduced back in 1978, Devil Dinosaur is a massive red dinosaur that possesses super strength, high durability, and human-like intelligence. Often found alongside his human partner Moon-Boy, the super-powered T-Rex often appears in Marvel comics, but is usually kept to small stories and one-shots.
As Marvel Rivals preps for its biggest year ever following its already massive 2025 slew of updates, NetEase has pushed for more obscure and unique characters in the hero shooter. In a recent discussion, game director Guangyun Chen explained that more unique heroes are harder to make, but it’s an important part of creating a game that properly represents the Marvel universe.
Devil Dinosaur’s introduction to Marvel Rivals has not been officially announced by NetEase, however, new datamines have discovered evidence of the animal superhero’s future presence in the game.
Popular and often-accurate Marvel Rivals leakers X0X_Leak announced that they have found references to “DEVIL DINOSAUR – HeroID 1062” in the game. “References to Devil Dinosaur to the HeroID 1062 exist,” the leakers said. “This would confirm that Devil Dinosaur is one of our next heroes.”
With that said, Devil Dinosaur may take a while to come to the game. One of the earliest leaks for Marvel Rivals involved Deadpool with fans finding evidence of voice lines for the hero in the game close to launch. However, it took until the end of last year for the hero to be officially announced.
As Rivals devs push to include more obscure and unique characters into the game, Devil Dinosaur will surely be an awesome addition to the hero shooter’s sandbox. While we can’t comment on the character’s role in the sandbox, we would expect the character to be a close-range tank character.
