Farming the Lord (or Champion) status can be one of the most satisfying challenges in Marvel Rivals. While the grind itself is not much fun, its rewards are definitely worth it. After all, showing up to a match with a fancy animated avatar and a Legendary title is quite impressive, especially if done with multiple characters.
Completing proficiency challenges in Marvel Rivals can take a lot of time. In fact, some characters require hundreds of hours to get to the last level, Champion. Fortunately, you can use one of the modes in the hero shooter to easily rank up your favorite characters and unlock proficiency rewards far faster than in standard modes.
Thanks to the 18v18 Annihilation mode, you can rank up not only faster, but also easier. Here is how.
How to reach the Champion rank quickly in Marvel Rivals
To reach the Champion rank quickly in Marvel Rivals, you can play the 18v18 Annihilation mode. As its name indicates, the mode features 36 players split into two teams. Most of the fights are concentrated in one spot, which makes this challenge even faster. While standard modes feature respawns in distant places, the Annihilation map is relatively small, so even when you die, you can get back to the fight in a few seconds.
The 18v18 Annihilation mode can be selected to be played with or without AI bots. If you go against bots, you will be able to farm proficiency rewards even easier. AI bots are generally easy to eliminate, which makes them perfect for ranking up to Champion.
However, it’s important to note that you can only farm Daily missions in this Marvel Rivals mode. Permanent missions are reserved for standard modes. Fortunately, this is not a big deal, as you can still level up quickly before hitting the daily cap.

The first proficiency challenge, which is the hero usage time, will be the slowest one to complete in the 18v18 mode. In general, matches are usually too short to fully maximize time-based progress. On the other hand, you can complete the other two missions very easily.
Even if you are not a fan of Lord or Champion farming, you should rank up characters for the rewards. In addition to the cosmetics, you can unlock 500 Units per character, making this grind worth your time.
In the meantime, NetEase is getting everything ready for the release of Marvel Rivals Season 8. The new season is rumored to bring two new characters, Cyclops and Devil Dinosaur, as well as new summer skins.
