Marvel Rivals Season 9 starts on Friday, and NetEase has revealed lots of new content coming with it. The update arrives on July 10 and brings a massive Team-Up overhaul that should change how nearly every hero plays.

However, one of the funniest new Season 9 details may belong to Devil Dinosaur. The massive Vanguard is already one of the strangest heroes in Marvel Rivals, and a new feature suggests he is about to get even more absurd. The tank will be able to heal his teammates in the new season, which sounds both broken and epic.

Devil Dinosaur’s Team-Up turns him into a new Marvel Rivals healer

According to X0XLEAK, Punisher will be able to give Devil Dinosaur guns, while Jeff the Land Shark gives him a healing beam. That means the giant red dinosaur may soon be able to either blast enemies with extra firepower or help restore teammates, depending on his selected Team-Up ability.

Devil Dinosaur will be one of the biggest winners from the new Team-Up system, which is one of the biggest changes Marvel Rivals has ever had. Instead of simply adding damage or survivability, the Team-Up gives Devil Dinosaur a healing beam. While this does not make him a full Strategist, it could give him a support-like option that helps teammates during fights.

Starting with the new season, every hero will have two Team-Up Ability loadouts, but only one can be equipped at a time. Players will also be able to swap these loadouts in the spawn room, which should make the system much easier to use.

The biggest change is that Team-Up abilities are no longer completely locked behind having the right partner on your team. Each ability now has a base effect that can be used regardless of team composition, while the enhanced effect only activates when the matching partner is present. To make it simpler, Devil Dinosaur may be able to use the basic version of his new Team-Up even without Jeff or Punisher on the team. However, having the correct partner should make the ability stronger, so we can’t wait to try it out.
