Earlier this month, Marvel Rivals players celebrated a rare victory for their hard drives when NetEase announced a game size reduction. With the release of Season 6, the game developer decreased the installation size by 15%, reducing it to approximately 90 GB. Unfortunately, the promising update was reverted this week.
NetEase released another Marvel Rivals patch on Thursday, bringing another free skin and a new Convoy map. However, the update also increased the installation size of the game, bringing it back to triple digits. The Clobberin’ Club certainly lives up to its name, as it smashed the installation size.
What’s the file size of Marvel Rivals in 2026?
At the moment, Marvel Rivals weighs 100 to 115 GB, depending on the platform. The brief reduction was great, but short-lived. With NetEase promising even more heroes and maps in the coming months, players with smaller disks might need to start clearing space now, or the game might soon become unplayable.
While the latest update did add a new map, increasing the size drastically is quite unusual. This is quite frustrating for players with limited space and could be a deal breaker. However, we hope that NetEase will further optimize the game and reduce its size.

Season 6.5 of Marvel Rivals is scheduled to launch in mid-February and will introduce a new hero, Elsa Bloodstone. We also expect another map and event, as well as plenty of new cosmetics. The mid-season update may bring file size improvements as well, although we’ll have to wait for another week or two to find out all the details.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for more cosmetics to add to your account, check out all the free Marvel Rivals skins and participate in a limited-time TikTok event. You can also take a look at all the active Marvel Rivals codes.
