When does Marvel Rivals Season 9 end?
Season 9 of Marvel Rivals ends on September 11 as well. There is no gap between the two, as Season 10 begins right after Season 9 wraps up.
Marvel Rivals Season 10 brings new heroes

As NetEase told us earlier this year, hero releases in Marvel Rivals are not going to slow down. Therefore, it's no surprise that we are getting two new characters in Season 10, and they will be released a month apart from each other.
Recent leaks point to Nightcrawler and Gorr as new Marvel Rivals heroes in Season 10. The leaks come from X0XLeak, who has a solid track record. NetEase has since confirmed Gorr's addition and full kit through an official announcement, while Nightcrawler hasn't appeared in any official Season 10 materials so far.
Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler
According to the leaker, Nightcrawler will be a new Strategist. One of the unique things about him is the teleportation ability, and he will be similar to Lifeweaver from Overwatch. It appears that the Marvel Rivals developer has worked on Nightcrawler for an extended period, since he's been in the files for a long time.
The release date of Nightcrawler hasn't been confirmed yet, although he will likely drop by mid-October.
Gorr the God Butcher
The Marvel Rivals Season 9 trailer showed a mysterious figure killing Apocalypse and Khonshu with a necrosword, a not-so-subtle hint at Gorr. In the past, NetEase revealed that more villains would come to the hero shooter, and it appears that the God Butcher is next in line.
NetEase has now confirmed Gorr the God Butcher as a Duelist, ending the earlier debate over whether he would be a melee DPS or a Vanguard. As the wielder of All-Black the Necrosword, Gorr can morph his weapon into different forms depending on the fight, and he converts enemies he kills into Black Berserkers that fight alongside him.

Gorr can also use symbiote assimilation to reposition around the battlefield and strike from unexpected angles. His Ultimate Ability turns All-Black into the Annihilablade, commanding every active Black Berserker at once for an all-out assault on anyone caught in the fight.
Jubilee's launch in July 2026 has positively impacted the Marvel Rivals player count, and considering that many players have asked for Nightcrawler, Season 10 may follow suit. With Gorr being a villain, we expect him to become one of the most popular characters in the game shortly after his release.
Where is Loki in Marvel Rivals
At the moment, Loki is disabled as a playable characters in several Marvel Rivals game modes, including Quick Play and Practice vs. AI. He remains available in social hugs and competitive modes, which seems like a deliberate teaser for Season 10 and Gorr the God Butcher. Gorr's entire history revolves around hunting and killing gods, so it makes sense that the God of Mischief is one of his first targets in the game.
With Loki marked as missing, the build-up for the next Marvel Rivals season has officially begun, and NetEase turned it into a mini in-game event.
Marvel Rivals Season 10 rank reset

Once the new season comes out, your competitive rank in Marvel Rivals will reset. Full seasons apply a six-division drop, which works out to exactly two tiers. This means that if you finished Season 9 in a Gold division, your rank at the start of Season 10 will be Bronze.
| Season 9 finish | Season 10 starting rank |
|---|---|
| Celestial III | Diamond III |
| Grandmaster I | Platinum I |
| Diamond II | Gold II |
| Platinum III | Silver III |
| Gold III | Bronze III |
It's important to note that end-of-season rewards are tied to your peak rank, not your current one. This means that, as long as you reach the Gold division, for example, you will receive a new skin, even if you drop down to Silver.
Marvel Rivals Season 10 roadmap: new map, events, and game modes
The next season of the hero shooter is confirmed to bring a new Domination map called God Quarry, along with the return of the Galacta's Gift event, both landing with the September 24 update. Jeff's Dream Eater and Jeff's Superstar Search, two brand-new events, go live a week earlier with the September 18 update. Players can also grab new Pajama Party costumes as soon as Season 10 launches on September 11.
Here's the confirmed Season 10 content schedule:
| Date | Content |
|---|---|
| September 11 | Season 10 launch, Gorr the God Butcher, Pajama Party costumes |
| September 18 | Jeff's Dream Eater and Jeff's Superstar Search events |
| September 24 | God Quarry Domination map, Galacta's Gift Vol. 3 |
| Later in the season | Path to Doomsday Phase 3 (Avengers: Infinity War) and Phase 4 (Avengers: Endgame), two new game modes as part of Season 10.5 |
As NetEase previously told us, Marvel Rivals is moving away from being a standard 6v6 game, so the new modes tied to Path to Doomsday fit that direction. The Age of Ultron PvE mode landed well with players, and it will be interesting to see how these Avengers-themed modes compare. However, NetEase hasn't detailed exactly what either new mode will involve yet.
Marvel Rivals Season 10 Battle Pass

The next Marvel Rivals Battle Pass brings skins for 10 different characters. NetEase revealed the seasonal pass, which will be active for two months, and here are all the skins in it:
| Skin name | Character |
|---|---|
| Cosmic Kumiho | White Fox |
| Astral Aegis | Captain America |
| Astral Arcana | Doctor Strange |
| The Chronicler | Loki |
| Grootlactus | Groot |
| Savage Squirrel | Squirrel Girl |
| Business Elite | Psylocke |
| Vengeful Vigilante | The Punisher |
| Thunderbolts | Hawkeye |
| Silvered Slayer | Blade |
Marvel Rivals Season 10 balance changes
NetEase has revealed a detailed list of Marvel Rivals Season 10 buffs and nerfs in a new blog post. In total, 38 heroes will be affected by the latest changes on Friday.
What I want to see in Season 10
While NetEase has made numerous fantastic changes and improvements to Marvel Rivals, one thing that's still not great is the matchmaking. I would like to see a serious matchmaking overhaul in the next season, which could include better MMR distribution, less smurfing, meaningful Competitive ranks, and fewer winning or losing streaks.
Another thing that should be changed is the presence of bots in Quick Play. This mode is supposed to be easy and casual, but that doesn't mean that the majority of matches should be winnable. Allowing us to opt out of bots in this mode would go a long way. After all, we can play against AI in other modes, so removing them from Quick Play wouldn't be a big deal.
Finally, I would love to see NetEase experiment with a role queue. This likely wouldn't fix some of the biggest issues the game has, but it could make them better.
