While Helldivers 2 has just released its massive 6.2.2 update alongside its Exo Experts Warbond, the game is currently embroiled in yet another controversy.

As the game continues to grow in Warbonds, players have asked for Super Credits farming to be made easier, and Arrowhead has admitted that harder difficulties should be able to earn the premium currency faster. Additionally, players are still waiting for the game’s promised progression improvements to give long-term players something to do.

Following an AMA from the game’s creative director, PlayStation has now released a player survey for Helldivers 2 to understand the issues surrounding the game. Shared by Arrowhead, players are encouraged to fill out the survey as honestly as they can to identify the game’s core issues.

The survey, which you can find here, asks players how much they play Helldivers 2 currently, how long they’ve been playing the game for, what they’re currently enjoying about the game, and what they’re not enjoying about the game.

While a simple survey, filling out the form will allow both Arrowhead and Sony to understand the issues surrounding the multiplayer game right now. While the game’s creative director has talked to fans on just one of the game’s many subreddits, this survey will hopefully hit a wider audience.

Helldivers 2 may be in a bit of a rough shape right now, but it’s not a bad game, and it’s far from dead. However, even as big updates come to the game, it has felt like the core systems underneath the game have struggled to evolve since the game’s release.

In short, Arrowhead’s game has seen a lot of horizontal progression with new content coming to the game at all times. However, when it comes to vertical improvements—a deepening of the game’s systems and progression—there’s been little progress outside of the game’s underbaked weapon customisation.

Nevertheless, Arrowhead is working on additional improvements for Helldivers 2, although there’s no public release dates for any of the game’s major improvements. Arrowhead has consistently promised “sequel level features” are definitely coming to the game, we just don’t know what those features are.

At the end of the day, Helldivers 2 is still a great video game and one of the best multiplayer games around. However, as the game continues into its second year, the lack of any meaningful progression is making the game wear a little thinner than before. Hopefully, soon, those promised improvements will make their way to players.
