Vampiric RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker could receive major expansions sometime after release, but that’s not confirmed. What is confirmed, though, is the fact that the upcoming role-playing game will see a number of free DLCs after launch due to its strong pre-release support.

In development at new studio Rebel Wolves and helmed by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, The Blood of Dawnwalker is an ambitious new RPG. While the main game is already planned to be stalked with hard choices for players to make, the devs also have a post-launch roadmap in mind.

Speaking to Polish website PAP Biznes, thanks MP1ST, Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that the studio wants to make sequels to the game. These sequels would be set in different eras and even cultures with a potential present-day follow-up. Additionally, DLCs are in early production for the upcoming debut game.

Right now, the focus is on the game’s September release, but the team is creating a “Schedule of smaller, free DLC” to support players. “As for whether there will be add-ons immediately or not at all, we have recently started talks on this topic so as to plan a roadmap and timeline of smaller, free add-ons,” he said.

Tomaszkiewicz explained that the main focus is on a sequel. “Our goal is that, after the premiere, the cash balance in the company’s account will allow us to release a sequel and further develop the company,” he said. “If after the debut of the game it turns out that these financial results are better, we will definitely be happy. Secondly, for us at Rebel Wolves, the most important thing is that the company is a safe haven that rewards creativity.”

Right now, the studio is very happy with the game’s pre-release hype. At the time of writing, the game has around 1.5 million wishlists, which the team views as a good sign for the game’s success. Additionally, word of mouth surrounding the RPG is strong, and the game’s unique setting is sucking a lot of players in.

With that said, The Blood of Dawnwalker is launching in one of the busiest periods gaming has ever had. As every developer jumps to avoid the release of GTA 6 in November, September 2026 has become stacked with releases. Hopefully, this vampire-themed RPG will be able to get the sales it needs.
