Saber Interactive is releasing a huge free demo of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on all platforms to incite the few gamers who haven’t picked up the game to give it a shot.
Coming a year after the game’s initial release and alongside the game’s massive anniversary update, anyone will now be able to play a considerable amount of the best-selling 40K game of all time ahead of an entire new year of content.
Available from October 16th to October 20th on Xbox Series and PS5, and from October 16th to October 23rd for PC, the new demo version of the game will give players access to the first two missions from the game’s co-op campaign, introducing players to Titus’ fight against the Tyranids.
Additionally, the demo will also allow you to play two Operations: Decapitation and Vox Liberatis, as well as the game’s PvP with access to all weapons and classes in the game. Unfortunately, demo players will not be able to experience the new Helbrute Onslaught mode.
Players who do try out the demo before buying the game will also be pleased to hear that all progress will carry over from the demo to the base game. There’s nothing worse than playing four days worth of game and then having to replay everything when you actually buy the thing.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a fantastic co-op action game, and it’s kicked off a renaissance of 40K just as the series is set to hit an even wider audience with its upcoming Amazon Prime TV series.
While Saber Interactive continues to work on new Operations for Space Marine 2, the studio is also working on a full-fledged sequel to the game that aims to be “bigger and better” with larger-scale battles and a brand-new story. Few details have been released regarding the upcoming follow-up, but Saber is working in conjunction with Games Workshop to create a new, cinematic story.
Alongside continued support for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, there are more 40K games in the works by other studios. King Art Games, the team behind Iron Harvest, is working on Dawn of War 4, a new RTS game that looks absolutely sublime.
