Alice Duport-Percier, the vocalist behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s OST, becomes one of France’s most-streamed artists

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, kind of like Square Enix’s NieR: Automata, is beloved for its gameplay, music and it’s ear-massaging music. Sure, the game’s Belle Époque aesthetic leads to incredible landscapes, but the game’s mystical, painterly environments are massively boosted by a gorgeous soundtrack.

A large part of this is due ton the performance of Alice Duport-Percier, the vocalist behind the game’s ethereal tunes. Alongside singing the vocals throughout the game’s OST, Duport-Percier also helped compose a number of tracks in the game.

As reported by Billboard France (thanks, VGC), this year has been massive for the French singer with her works skyrocketing in popularity following the game’s rampant success. As 2025 closes, Alice Duport-Percier has become the fourth most-streamed female French artist in the United States.

A large number of these streams do come from the singer’s work on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Despite the game being released back in April, the game’s most famous track, Lumière, has been streamed 10s of millions of times since launch.

Additionally, the game’s soundtrack has been at the #1 spot on the Billboard Classical Charts for 10 weeks this year with an absurdly high stream volume rarely seen in video games. On YouTube, the official music video for Lumière has over 10 million views alone.

Following the release of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the turn-based RPG has seen success after success. Since launch, the game has managed to sell over 4.4 million units, and the game has been nominated for more The Game Awards categories than any other game in history.

As for developer Sandfall Interactive, the studio is already working on the early stages of its next title. While little is known about the game, this next release may not be another turn-based RPG with creative director Guillaume Broche explaining that the studio wants to be able to branch out.

“We don’t want to be constrained by story, art style or gameplay in whatever we want to make next, so nothing to say,” Broche said earlier this year. “We just want it to feel authentic, and made with love.”

Nevertheless, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a huge hit, with celebrities such as Glen Powell pushing for a feature-film adaptation of the story. While Sandfall may move on from the game eventually, the fans might not.
