When Does Marvel Rivals Season 5 Release?
Mark your calendars! The official launch date for Marvel Rivals Season 5 is Friday, November 14, 2025.
The current Season 4.5 is set to end just before the launch, with a brief period of server downtime for the major update. Based on previous seasonal launches, you can expect the new season to go live in the early morning hours in the US, or during the late morning/afternoon in Europe. Before the season is live, the servers will be taken down for maintenance. Here’s when the maintenance will take place:

The Season 5 Battle Pass
No new season is complete without a fresh set of cosmetics, and the Marvel Rivals Season 5 Battle Pass, titled "Grand Garden Adventure," will offer over 100 tiers of rewards. As usual, the Battle Pass is the primary way to snag new Legendary and Epic skins, emotes, in-game currency, and banners. The Battle Pass structure is expected to remain consistent with previous seasons, offering both a free track and a premium track unlocked with Lattice.
New Heroes: Gambit and Rogue
Season 5's theme, "Love is a Battlefield", centers on the legendary and often star-crossed romance between the X-Men duo Gambit (Remy LeBeau) and Rogue (Anna Marie LeBeau). The official trailer showcased a cinematic story where their wedding on Krakoa is interrupted by a Timestream Entanglement. Now, Gambit is on a "cosmic heist" to reclaim the moment time stole from them!
Gambit will be released on November 14, along with the new season. Confirmed as a Strategist, the Ragin' Cajun utilizes his kinetic card-wielding abilities to support and disrupt the battlefield. Rogue will be released with the mid-season 5.5 Patch. The power-absorbing southern belle’s details are still not fully known. New, Reworked, and Removed Team-Ups
Season 5 is shaking up the meta with a fresh focus on team synergy. Gambit immediately gets the new Explosive Entanglement Team-Up with Magneto, allowing him to charge Magneto's greatsword for delayed, area-of-effect explosions. Other notable additions include Sword of Duality (Cloak & Dagger + Hawkeye) and Blade of Khonshu (Moon Knight + Blade). In a major roster adjustment, the older Lunar Force and Operation Microchip Team-Ups are being retired, and Black Widow gains a new healing ability by joining the Primal Flame Team-Up with Phoenix.
What Else is Coming in Season 5?
The new season is packed with more than just a couple of fan-favourite mutants. NetEase Games is rolling out a massive content drop that includes:
- New Map and Mode: A huge 18v18 Annihilation (Conquest-style) mode is coming on November 27, alongside a brand-new map called Grand Garden.
- Social Hub: A non-combat zone, Times Square, is being added where up to 100 players can hang out, dance, and socialize between matches.
- Ranked Overhaul: Say goodbye to hard seasonal resets! Season 5 introduces 10 Placement Matches to set your initial rank, simplifying the competitive grind.
- Anniversary Event: Marvel Rivals is celebrating its one-year anniversary starting on November 27 with rewards, including a free Legendary Jeff the Land Shark costume (yes, really!) and 2500 Units.
With a massive content influx, two highly-requested X-Men heroes, a new Battle Pass, and a major ranked rework, Marvel Rivals Season 5 looks set to be the biggest update yet.
