Arc Raiders’ brand-new Turbine Compressors can be found without fighting Turbines, but they’re very rare

Arc Raiders’ latest update, Riven Tides, added a brand-new enemy in the form of the imposing, aerial Arc Turbines. The brand-new enemy comes with a brand-new material in the form of the Turbine Compressor, but you don’t need to actually fight Turbines to find it.

As it turns out, taking out the lightning-spewing, mine-lobbing Turbines is not the only way to get your hands on the new elusive material. Required for the game’s new Avian Alarm project as well as the Powered Descender, you’ll want to get your hands on the material, even if you’re too scared to take down the new foe.

As it turns out, Turbine Compressor mats can drop from the game’s Arc Couriers, the UFO-like wrecks found around every map. If you want to avoid Turbines to grab the new material, you’ll be able to get one or two compressors every run if you sprint from Courier-to-Courier, especially if you’re playing on a map with the Electromagnetic Storm condition.

If you’re able to go to a Courier-heavy map and you’re able to crack them all open, and you’re able to extract, you should get at least two Turbine Compressors per match.

Of course, this requires you to actually extract as well. Considering the fact that most players will be trying to complete the Avian Alarm project as soon as possible, Courier zones may be more hotly contested than usual. Additionally, cracking open one of the decimated ARC corpses isn’t the quietest activity you could be doing, so keep an eye on your surroundings.

Right now, Turbine Compressors are Epic-quality items, so the drop rate is much lower than other mats. However, seeing as you only need two compressors to finish the Avian Alarm project right now, it’s worth trying to find the materials this way if fighting Arc Turbines is too scary right now. Although, the only thing scarier than ARCs is, unfortunately, other Arc Raiders players.

Considering the rapid updates coming to Arc Raiders every week, it’s not guaranteed that this strategy will be a permanent addition to the game. Nevertheless, for now, this is a great way to get your hands on the new materials until Embark’s next balancing shift.

Embark has already released the first minor patch following Riven Tides’ launched. Released earlier today, the game’s latest patch includes fixes to cross play, which was broken with the new update, and a reduction in crashing.
