Fortnite is pulling out all the stops for the 15th anniversary of LEGO Ninjago. A huge addition to the battle royale’s LEGO Odyssey mode, the new LEGO Ninjago: Rise of the Ninja is so large that it is essentially an entirely new game.

As the biggest ever update for the the Fortnite LEGO mode, Rise of the Ninja is adding an entirely new open world, an entire Ninjago LEGO pass with Zane, Jay, Cole and Kai (who also get non-LEGO skins) and a host of Ninjago weapons to use.

Releasing on December 11, 2025 the new Fortnite mode tasks players with mastering elemental abilities on the brand-new Ninjago Island. Here, players will be able to visit numerous Sanctums where they will learn to master different elements as well as learn how to use iconic ninja weaponry.

Players will be able to equip swords, nunchucks and shurikens to fight with, and every skill will be required. After all, the game also adds a powerful fire-breathing dragon to the open-world as a new boss to fight.

Alongside all of this, LEGO Ninjago: Rise of the Ninja is set to continue with its own set of updates in 2026. These updates will not only add even more familiar faces from the iconic LEGO brand—including Nya, Master Wu, and Lloyd—but will also add additional content to the game.

“You’re built for this! Command ELEMENTAL powers, master Spinjitzu, wield new weapons and movement abilities, and defend Ninjago Island from a monstrous threat in Odyssey’s Ninjago update. Become an ELEMENTAL Master and get Zane, Jay, and Cole Outfits in the Shop, and add some Ninja flair to your world with new Builds, Decor Bundles, and more,” reads the new mode’s synopsis.

This new major update comes just after the release of Fortnite Chapter 7, the latest major update for the main battle royale mode. For more covergae of Epic’s game, read about the game’s upcoming storm overhaul as well as the returning fan-favourite weapons coming back to the game.
