The recent Marvel Rivals update has positively impacted its player count. The number of active players has been a popular topic over the past few months, as many gamers believe that the game is dying. However, that has never been true, especially after the latest patch.

Even before the update, Marvel Rivals was still going strong, with millions of daily active users. Since then, however, NetEase’s hero shooter has gained more than 50% of players, which is impressive. It appears that many players wanted to take a break from PvP action, and the Marvel Zombies mode was the right answer to that.

What is the current Marvel Rivals player count?

Season 4.5 of Marvel Rivals came out on October 10, peaking at 99,020 concurrent players on Steam. A day later, slightly more than 112,000 logged on to try Daredevil and all the new content that arrived with the season. Since then, the player count has mostly gone down. Well, that is, until the release of the PvE mode.

Thanks to the release of Marvel Zombies, the Rivals player count skyrocketed to more than 127,000 concurrent players over the weekend. A day before the game mode came out, the game peaked at 77,559 players, yet jumped by more than 43% on the release date. Considering that the mode was released on a workday, this increase is beyond amazing.

In total, the player count has increased by more than 50% since the PvE mode came out. It appears that many players wanted a different kind of fun, as fighting other players has become quite frustrating. Fortunately, the zombies mode was the right move.

NetEase has plans to release even more PvE modes, and it will be interesting to see what we’ll get in the future. For now, Marvel Rivals is dominating global gaming charts, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
