Marvel Rivals kicked off 2026 in a grand way, adding Deadpool to the hero roster. The Merc With a Mouth is one of the most popular Marvel characters, so adding him was certainly the right move. However, his performance has been quite disappointing so far, and many players have given up on him.
While the new hero was considered overpowered in the first week, especially as a Strategist, that is no longer the case. Even though Deadpool can play all three roles, he doesn’t excel in any of them. He truly is a jack of all trades, but master of none.
Is Deadpool a bad choice in Marvel Rivals?
Deadpool is arguably the most entertaining hero in the game at the moment. He’s especially better after the latest update reduced his chatter with Galacta, which was quite annoying.
Deadpool has only been out for a few weeks, so many players haven’t mastered him yet. However, it appears that almost everyone learned how to counter him properly. As a result, Deadpool is one of the worst Marvel Rivals heroes in terms of win rate. In fact, only Black Widow is worse than him.

The best version of Deadpool is a Vanguard, and even this version ranks 28th among all heroes with a 48.91% win rate. Duelist and Strategist versions of the character are ranked at the bottom, with 45.13% and 44.86% respective win rates. Only Black Widow, who is the only character with a sub-40-percent win rate, is worse than Deadpool.
With the release date of Marvel Rivals Season 6.5 less than two weeks away, we will likely see more balance changes. NetEase will almost certainly buff Deadpool, especially after he loses his seasonal bonus. However, finding the right balance with the hero will be quite difficult.
