From Housemarque, the studio behind Returnal, comes Saros, a neon-soaked sci-fi action game set beneath the shadow of an ominous eclipse. Players take control of Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer (performed by Rahul Kohli), as he hunts for answers across Carcosa. You’ll explore a shape-shifting world filled with hostile inhabitants, strange ruins, alien technology, and deadly bullet ballet combat (somewhat reminiscent of Max Payne). Saros Release Date and Global Launch Times

Saros officially launches for PlayStation 5 on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The official PlayStation Store page lists the release time as 4 AM UTC, giving us the launch-time anchor for the digital release. Additionally, players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition can begin playing 48 hours early. Here’s how that release time converts across major regions:

Platforms

Saros is a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch. That means that the game will (currently) only be available for PS5, with support for

There is currently no official information about Xbox or PC versions. However, it’s likely that Saros will get a wider platform release at a later date.

Gameplay Features

Saros is built around Housemarque’s signature fast, arcade-inspired action, this time framed as “bullet ballet” combat. The game promises intense projectile-focused gameplay with a neon-infused aesthetic, ferocious enemies, and spectacular boss fights. In-game mechanics like dodging, shielding, parrying, and a high-tech arsenal were built for flow-state combat. 

You play as Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer investigating the shape-shifting planet Carcosa. Beneath the Eclipse, the world changes after every run, but Saros is not a full reset every time. The game features permanent rogue-lite progression, letting you augment your loadout with evolving weapons and upgrades while keeping resources gained between runs.

Then there’s the Second Chance, a revive mechanic that instantly brings Arjun back after his first death, helping you return to the action without immediately losing a run. 

Between runs, players return to the Passage to track progression and meet the crew of Echelon IV. However, the Eclipse appears to distort more than Carcosa’s physical spaces, with hallucinations and paranoia threatening to turn allies into potential dangers.
