While the spotlight is currently focused on the fantastic Silent Hill F, the best-selling game in Konami’s long-running horror series, Bloober Team’s terrifying remake of Silent Hill 2 is seemingly set for a resurgence.
Originally released as a PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive, the beautiful remake of the best Silent Hill game appears to be jumping over to more platforms later this year.
As spotted by reporter Rebs Gaming, Bloober Team has updated its website for Silent Hill 2 Remake, teasing two new platforms for the game. Originally, the website’s “Buy Now” field only had options for PS5 and PC. However, a new update shows two empty fields have been added which have yet to be filled in.
Additionally, Bloober Team’s remake of the PlayStation 2 horror classic was released with a one-year exclusivity period. This exclusivity period for PS5 and PC is set to expire on October 8, 2025, which could line up with an announcement for the game’s new versions.
While an Xbox Series port of the game makes sense, there is the surprise addition of a Nintendo Switch 2 port. On release, Silent Hill 2 Remake proved to be quite heavy on a base PS5, but Bloober Team does already have experience with Nintendo’s new console.
Just last month, Bloober Team released a solid port of Chronos: The New Dawn on Nintendo’s new handheld which ran surprisingly great. While the game did have some major graphics cuts with some elements having “lower-than-low” PC settings, the game still looked quite good on the handheld for an Unreal Engine 5 game.
Considering Konami’s Xbox ports of Silent Hill F and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the latter of which has its own exclusive mode on Xbox, it certainly makes sense that a port of Silent Hill 2 Remake would make its way to Microsoft’s console. Additionally, considering Bloober Team’s pedigree of bringing Unreal Engine 5 games to Switch, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the game also jump to Nintendo’s handheld. All that’s needed now is an official announcement.
