Saber Interactive and Focus Home Entertainment have confirmed a third year of content is coming for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

Following the game’s recent sales milestone, which saw 12 million players jump into the action game, the team is committed to another full year of free content and paid DLC.

While Space Marine 2 has seen one moment of controversy with the release of its Voice Pack DLC, the game has been largely well-received by fans. Due to the high community response and continued engagement with the game, Saber wants to keep supporting the title while it works on Space Marine 3 in the background.

Space Marine 2’s live support has officially been extended into a third year, bringing even more free updates and DLC content. Lately, our updates have been very well received by the community, which really motivates us to keep up the momentum for the third year,” publisher Focus Home Interactive said in a community blog post.

The Year 3 Roadmap will be revealed in the future, and will include content that didn’t make it into the game’s Year 2 releases. Additionally, the team is also planning brand-new content that will be explained at a later date.

“Everything that didn’t make it into the updated Year 2 roadmap will now roll over into Year 3, even though we’re not ready to share more details just yet,” they said. “Don’t worry, all content that has been postponed will remain free, as it was planned for Year 2.”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 still has a significant amount of content to come as part of its Year Two Battle Plan. This includes a major Wargear rework that will allow players to use Classic-specific Wargear on other classes, as well as a major overhaul to Siege Mode that will introduce new features and allow build crafting.

Additionally, you’ll also get access to more PvP arenas, a new enemy, and a tonne of additional heroic weapons. While a third year may be coming for the game, there’s also a tonne of content launching later this year as well. Finally, improved mod tools are also in the works to allow fans to create more custom levels.

The next few years are proposed to be huge years for Warhammer 40,000 video games in general. Alongside continued support for Space Marine 2, the long-awaited Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is set to launch this year. Furthermore, Games Workshop recently revived a tonne of classic Warhammer PC games on Steam, allowing fans to pick up some of the best retro titles in the series.

Additionally, Creative Assembly is hard at work on its exciting Total War: Warhammer 40,000. The new RTS game is currently in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, and will feature an Army Builder allowing you to create your own Chapters.
