Saber Interactive has confirmed the upcoming addition of a third class to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

While Saber is also at work on Space Marine 3, the team has confirmed a full third year of post-launch content for the current action co-op game. Following massive sales and player milestones, alongside DLC sales, the recent sequel will receive even more post-launch updates for free.

In a new community post, the developer confirmed that the next year of updates will bring a second new class to the game. The first new class released mere months ago as part of the game’s ongoing Year 2 support, adding the beloved Techmarine to the game.

While the developer did not confirm what this class will be, they did state that it is one that’s “highly requested by the community”. While a lot of classes are requested by fans, the top pick right now, according to the community, is the Apothecary.

As for the nature of Year 3, Saber has confirmed that Space Marine 2 will receive five major patches which will take the game up to Patch 19. Each update will include additional content, including new Operations.

“Once again, there’ll be plenty of free content for everyone, including new weapons, missions, and more. On top of that, there’ll be a Season Pass packed with Chapter cosmetics and Champion skins,” the developer said.

“We’ll also continue placing a strong focus on improving the user experience and fixing bugs throughout Year 3,” the developer said, “making the game smoother, more stable, and more enjoyable for everyone.”

Additionally, Saber is continuing to improve the mod tools for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Earlier this year, the developer allowed players to create custom levels and Operations, and additional work is being done to support more creations.

Saber has confirmed that the new class, whatever it may be, will launch in “the first half of 2027”. However, this could end up being pushed. For example, the game’s Techmarine class was frequently pushed back, but it is finally in the game at the time of writing.

Finally, the next year of updates promises additional improvements to the game’s Siege Mode. Already in a rather fine shape, Saber is hoping to continue improving the mode to give players more options.
